* Tutoring students one-on-one and tailoring instruction to each
* Having an office space to work in and deliver instruction
* Freedom to design lessons based on the science of reading
* Mentally stimulating & educated colleagues
Cons
* Time allotted for work was unrealistic.
* Upper management struggled to retain full-time instructors due to the SC's unrealistic workload. Most instructors worked part time for a healthy life-work balance.
* Onboarding was weak and insufficient given the complexity of the data management system used.
* Health care benefits were poor. Downsizing to a smaller more modern building (vs 3-story sprawling] could help funnel more money toward health care benefits as could reducing advertising. There was a waiting list of students and not enough full-time instructors.
