Pros

Phenomenal lifestyle support. Being an international company, Storyblok does follow the Austrian standards for work-life balance. This includes 25 Paid days off a year. That also doesn't include the unlimited sick days, time off for maternity, marriage, court dates, ect. In the United States, I was used to there being only accrued days throughout the year, and slowly building up an allowance, but Storyblok gives you these days on Day 1. They are also big proponents of following the Digital Nomad lifestyle. You can truly work from anywhere. Ideally, depending on your role, like if you are in sales, you want to be in a timezone where it is convenient for you to call your clients at normal work hours, but the rest is up to you. I cannot highlight enough how amazing this company is for work life balance.

Cons

If you work internationally, you are likely hired as a contractor, as they follow Austrian law, and there are limitations to how pay is administered. Also, common in the U.S. is working for a company that can provide health benefits. This is not available as a contractor for Storyblok. Just something to keep in mind when joining.

Pros

I've been really impressed with how Storyblok supports employees and recognizes their work. Many companies talk about positive work cultures, but Storyblok makes it tangible in ways that matter to you and your family. - Promotions are common - Yearly merit-based salary increases - Bonus still mostly filled when we came just under our target - Great PTO with a culture that encourages using it, including thoughtful extras for life events like getting married, moving house, and birthing parent leave (16 weeks).

Cons

None - keep supporting your employees and we'll keep supporting you! USA health insurance coverage for dependents could be better though ;)

Thanks for sharing this—really appreciate the thoughtful note. We’re genuinely glad to hear the support for employees, recognition, and benefits are making a real difference, not just at work but in life outside of it. That’s exactly what we’re aiming for. Also appreciate the specific feedback on US dependent coverage—that’s helpful context as we continue to review and evolve our benefits. And we hear you on the advice to management. As we scale, keeping that “special company” feeling is something we’re very intentional about, even when things get more complex. Thanks again for taking the time to share this.

Pros

The work-life balance was strong, and the off-site meetings were great. I also appreciated the team, the access to useful technology, and the opportunity to work with smart people who cared about doing good work.

Cons

There were a lot of changes in management, which led to frequent changes in goals, priorities, and direction. When I was let go, I was not given a clear reason why or asked for feedback about my experience. That felt very heartless, especially because there was so much heart in the culture while you were there as an employee.
