Pros
Stroll is a great place to work and here's why: you get amazing experience that you would never get at many other companies. They truly invest in their employees development and have them work on projects outside of their normal business area. You literally would get an 'education budget' to go to conferences, networking events, take classes, read books... I was given the opportunity to do a lot of cool things and I really attest that to my passion to be great at my profession, and managements response to that hard work. I was given opportunities that I will cherish and has allowed me to gain experience I wouldn't have had this early in my career if I was at any other company. I was always treated fairly, paid fairly, and given opportunities that I deserved (and sometimes ones which I didn't, but they believed in me and my abilities and gave me a chance). I loved the community at the company too. The employees are great to each other and I developed a lot of great friendships by being there. The culture I think is a testament to that - they want bright, motivated, passionate people - it was great to be surrounded by people like that.
Cons
Stroll had such great growth over the last few years and like any high growth organization, they experienced "growing pains". It wasn't perfect but when you really think about it, no employer is. I do wish that management spent a little more time talking to the people on the front lines. The employees are driven and smart. A lot of times there would be small fires that they wouldn't prioritize to take care of and those small fires would grow into large fires and take up too much of everyones time. Being more operationally proactive is hard in a growing organization but its necessary. You have to prioritize growth just as much as operational excellence.
