Pros

1. The students are for the most part wonderful and make up for all of the politics that one must endure to work for this company.

Cons

1. Management - They are unqualified for the job that they attempt to do, however they believe that everyone must bow down to them. 2. Having worked for the tutoring side of the company, it is very challenging for a person with any sort of heart to ask desperate parents looking for help with their children's education to pay extremely high prices for a "service" that is thrown together last minute. Warning: All "individualized programs" are worksheets ripped out of books and put into a binder with your child's name on it. 3. Since the company has financial troubles now expect some of the following: limiting the heat in the winter to save on heating costs, working for free on marketing events, limiting the amount of paper each student uses, only providing outdating materials and technology (these are just a few that come to mind)

Pros

As a recent University Graduate from McMaster University, I was extremely happy to have received an offer of employment from Summit College. Summit College helped me learn more about office administration and student admissions, human resources roles (including, recruiting, hiring, training, screening, and so on). I am very thankful for my time at Summit as I learned a lot and the experience lead me to a new career at McMaster University. Since Summit was taken over by new management in 2015 the company has significantly improved. The company has been working on re-branding as well as re-establishing as an educational institution. Prior to the change in management, the company was not a good place to work. The new management and GM that took over had a big focus on personal and professional development of employees and valued lifelong learning. Overall, Summit is a really good place to work if you are just starting out in your career. The pay is fairly decent for someone fresh out of University or College and it is a solid, small, team environment to be a part of.

Cons

When enrollment isn't extremely demanding or hiring new employees is not a huge priority, there can be a lack of jobs to complete. For the most part, management is good at assigning special projects during slow weeks but there were times where I felt that I wasn't being challenged.
