Pros

1. Abundant free food for the closing shift, was taking like 10-20 rolls and other sushi home. (Not sure if this applies to all stores, but the one I worked at was fine with it and encouraged to take food home since unsold food goes to the bin anyways.) 2. Customers are easy going, most customers just come and go for the food, there is never/rarely any bad interactions. 3. Get to learn some culinary skills.

Cons

1. EXTREMELY low pay, Even McDonalds has a significantly higher wage, for example at Mcdonald's and other workplaces when I was 14-15yrs old paid $13-17 p/h, at sushi hub It was $14 p/h when i was 17 yrs old! Getting paid lower than when I was younger was a shock. 2. Upper Management were horrendous, (this may not apply to all stores). While everywhere can have management issues, Sushi Hub had some of the worst management I've experienced. They would severely cut hours but would still expect the same AMOUNT and QUALITY of work to be done which is impossible. All my coworkers except for me had actually been clocking out on time BUT still staying behind 30m-2hours per shift to finish their tasks doing UNPAID OVERTIME (which is illegal for the business), just avoid management from getting upset from their overtime (which was hours we originally had but was cut). I was the only one actually clocking out legitimately when I finished my tasks which was 30-1hr overtime which the management saw and had an issue with and I was blamed and compared against my other coworkers since they clocked out "on time" in the records even though I took the same/less time than them in reality. They would also blame and threaten workers, for example one day it was just a slow day, the team members aren't responsible for the amount of customers coming in, we don't have anyone outside with a sign waving come in to get sushi! It's the costumer's themselves that decide if they feel like sushi. However due to the low sales, management threatened staff members in the group chat and gave them a formal warning and a strike (3 strikes = fired). If anything, blame your marketing team sushi hub, instead of the workers who did nothing wrong. Overall it is just a horrible work environment. Even if other food/service places also have a terrible work-life, at least they usually pay $3-10+ MORE PER HOUR for it.
