Even a day is less to say cons of this company. Nobody cares about product. Decision makers in Pune office care only about their job and power. If they feel you have good knowledge of something, they will never let you work on it, just out of insecurity. Employees who say no to work late hours are not treated well. If you finish your work on time and go offline, you are not good for them. They want people to work 24x7 with no extra benefits. People who don’t do their designated jobs are the once who are often glorified. And those who do their designated jobs are not good enough for them. People dramatically stay offline without any communication and no action is taken against them. Some take so many sick leaves, almost 6-7 every month and nobody questions them. Decision makers in Pune are only politicians, they never let go your voice above their level and if you do anything skipping them, they will make your life hell. Some guys keep poking in everything related to engineering team when technically they don’t have to do anything with engineering team. Now let’s talk about management guys in US. Those who are responsible for this poor culture in Synacor, are no longer with company. And now whoever are there, they are walking on the same path. First they never accept their mistakes. If anything goes wrong, engineering team is responsible for it. They always set unrealistic targets and after failing blame on engineering. CEO is just a micro manager,
