Pros

Colleagues are friendly, helpful and supportive

Cons

Morale is at an all time low due to the constant threat of redundancy and feeling of instability in the company. Pay rise/Bonus is non existent or very little considering we are being told how well the company is doing in every meeting. Seems to be a lot of senior leadership discussing the company rather than actually having enough staff to do the work. Pressure and workload has increased massively, we are told to plan our work to our capacity then we are giving last minute high priority work meaning we can not do our planned work… followed by questioning of why we haven’t completed everything. Stress is on the rise and is starting to negatively affect staff working as a team, there is no time to work together to get the best quality standard as everyone has too much on there plate. With more staff being made redundant and the ones left behind having to stack up even more work daily and take on extra responsibility surely there should be some pay compensation for this? Well there isn’t, same pay and more work! I know of a quite a few colleagues including myself that have been promised a course to gain a qualification needed for our role but each year this is just put to the side as there is no time or no money for us to progress.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback. Firstly, I’m pleased to hear you’ve found your colleagues supportive and helpful—this teamwork and collaborative spirit are essential elements of what we strive for at System C. There is a lot to unpack in your note and I won’t manage to get into all the detail here, so do get in touch with me directly as I would be very happy to discuss it with you. The journey we’re currently undertaking to make System C an even better place inevitably brings challenges, and I appreciate that this may have felt disruptive and stressful at times. We try to minimise the impact of changes, but like any business, it is crucial that we evolve in order to thrive both now and into the future. We have actively invested in new systems, new offices, and in our colleagues in order to do so – and it’s important to state that our headcount is actually growing year on year as we continue to ensure we have the right colleagues with the right skills where we need them as our business and the needs of our customers evolve – for example as AI takes centre stage. Thank you again for taking the time to write and I will of course keep you and the whole System C team updated as we progress over the coming weeks, months and years. Nick

Pros

The only pro is the remote / hybrid working.

Cons

I could write a lot on this, but the two biggest challenges within the company are: 1. Disorganized processes and slow decision making. Operations felt chaotic, more like the downside of a start-up than the upside. Decisions moved slowly, inefficiencies were everywhere and few people seemed empowered or accountable to fix them. The technology, infrastructure, and ways of working often felt outdated and unnecessarily manual. 2. A People team lacking credibility and capability. From leadership down, the People function appeared out of depth. Initiatives such as career frameworks and progression tools being introduced felt more like surface level exercises than meaningful strategies. Despite the talk of being “people focused,” the execution of any initiatives lacked clarity, consistency and genuine understanding of what employees actually need.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I’m pleased our remote / hybrid working suited you, but I’m sorry that other aspects of your time did not meet your expectations. We recognise that some of our processes and tools have been too manual and slow. As we integrate our group of companies into one organisation, we’re investing in clearer processes, better systems and sharper ownership so decisions move faster. You’ve also raised concerns about our People team and career development. Our career frameworks are currently in the design and build phase to create greater transparency, with a communicated deadline of the end of our financial year. Alongside this, we’ve introduced Development Planning, Squiggly Careers training and toolkits, and a mentoring programme to support colleagues with their career development. We appreciate your honesty and will use this feedback as we continue to improve. Tanya
