Pros
If you grow tired of your current department, you can switch to another and be working with all new people. You get a lot of time off for the holidays. The health and retirement benefits are good.
Cons
They do not want to hire additional staff which makes it harder on everyone. The compensation is not very good. The staff is seen as second class citizens and the faculty is the top priority (even over the students).
