Pros
They allow associates to cash payroll checks in the stores. Potential to get hours as so many people quit or call out, often.
Cons
It depends on which store you work in, but for the most part, the whole corporation is poorly, poorly managed. One assistant manager would cuss and flip people off for being late and made one associate feel guilty for going to the ER after cutting her hand at work. If you don't have direct deposit, you may have to wait up to a week after payday to get your check due to bad weather in the corporate office. Don't expect the assistant managers to do anything to fix it other than give you a voucher for 60% of your check. According to the Laborious Board, that practice is illegal. The corporation does not hire enough loss prevention and gets ripped off, often and tells the overworked, underpaid associates that that is our fault. One ASM told me they weren't getting bonuses because of the condition of the store, shrink and poor customer satisfaction and that there would be " hell to pay " for that. It is like working for an insane woman on permanent Pms. You just to have a pulse to be in management, it appears. The company is really pushy about the associates badgering customers to upsell tjx credit cards. If you get credits, you get hours. If not, you get low hours and bad treatment.
