Depending on the airport, (I have worked at several): -You might find a decent work schedule and decent days off. -Overtime and bonuses can sometimes pay well -401k plan not bad
Cons
TSA has had the highest EEOC complaint record for years, and rightfully so! -The agency tolerates some of the most stupid, abusive, and ignorant management known to mankind (If you can even call it management). They will do whatever they can to you if you do not stand up and fight them with complaints. -Extremely poor staffing and working conditions that make the pay not worth it. -Officers call out a lot for various reasons -Management could care less if you lived or died, as long as you are totally subservient to them and afraid, MOST of them want that from the employee. After 10 years of being an employee, believe me I know! -Most times of you request anything that improves working conditions or staffing, it will be utterly ignored, which completely conveys that the upper management sincerely DOES NOT CARE! -Yes, it is true that the agency will hire nearly anyone they can simply to apply more staffing numbers to the table. For a long time, they didn’t care to look at new hires backgrounds meticulously enough to locate criminals entering the agency. So you had criminals working for the agency for a long time before they woke up to even start correcting that problem. I know this, because I assisted with the interview process! It was a complete joke!!
