Pros

Flexible hours! hours can adjust to school schedule, and personal life

Cons

Under Paid Employees! Only $8.00 an hour for Maxium work loads and long hours doing manual labor. Workers have to walk around the hospital to every single room collecting T.V & Phone money from all patients. Some patient isolation rooms require having to wear a gown, head covering, mask, and gloves because of risk of contamination. Yet TVR feels it is fair to pay their employees a lousy $8.00 an hour. Workers have to activate television and phone services throughout hospital/nursing home. Fix/troubleshoot/replace T.V's, Phones, and remotes that are defective. Write receipts, fill out appropriate slips for patients paying with checks or credit card, call on the spot to verify credit card manual and enter payment manual, Harass sick or elder patients for past due monies, Get threatened by angry patient relatives, have patients throw things like feces and/or urine at you, one time a patient chased me out of the room cussing me down the hallways all the way to the elevator, plus you're put in an even more compromising position because you're carrying cash money in an envelope with you all day around the hospital, and everyone knows it!!. Your work still isn't over after you leave the floors you have to return back to the office room and log payments and patients info into RCP system, plus fill out paperwork of Patients and payments, plus calculate receipts, count monies, log this data into paperwork as well, then hit the hospital floors (yup each and every floor) and do these long dreadful steps all over again. All for $8.00 an hour!! Job does not care for Employee safety at all their only concern is that envelope of their money that you're carrying around. They do not care if it is a blizzard or snow storm, they do not care if you're near death in an emergency room, even if you bring an actual doctors note showing proof that you were in the emergency room seriously sick and/or injured the Managers will still Harass, threaten you, and write you up! Managers call and Harass you on your day off. Say bye bye to relaxing or even having a piece of mind on your day off. The manager will blow your phone up calling constantly to ask you work related questions that are far from urgent, and can wait for the following day when you returned to work. I was one of their best hard working employees that collected large amounts for them. I only had one day off a week. Each week on my single day off the Manager called me!! To gossip about other workers and ask me questions about patients, money, receipts, or whatever else she can think off. Sometimes she called 4-5 times in one day! God forbid the system shuts down. Be prepared to right every patient information, and payment information manually for the whole entire hospital. Yes I got blisters and callouses on the sides of my fingers from holding a pen and writing for hours. Oh and it's not over!! You also have to fix their system when it's down. Be prepared to be on the phone with a technician who is getting paid a lot of money so you can do their work for them. Over the phone this technician will send you behind this big system machine with different wires and cords hanging out, and ask you to pull out cords, troubleshoot the machine, insert pin into the reset button, and etc. Completely dangerous for someone who isn't a professional skilled electrician, but once again the goes to show you TVR does not care for the life of their Employees! All for $8.00 an hour! Due to the extent of this job, and the complications that come with this line of work there will be days where you have to stay later! Possibly leaving at 10pm!! Don't expect to get paid any overtime!! They will not pay you for those hours. Instead they will still only pay you for 4-8 shift!!
