We make no apologies for being an action oriented business that’s about getting results for our clients. At interview, we’re upfront and honest that our culture is about ‘doing’ it, not just talking about doing it. If you’re someone who likes lots of long meetings, decision making by committee and talking about what’s wrong with the office equipment, we accept that you’re probably not going to enjoy working here. We don’t have layers of red tape and bureaucracy; we try to hire people who want a role they can make their own and we empower them to do that right from day 1. Micro-management is usually only a necessity when a person has oversold their skills and clearly isn’t up to the task of leading an effective team within our culture. Rather than leaving them to flail, other Managers will step in.
We also take pride in our policy that we don’t discourage you from having your own freelance interests outside of work time and even offer part time hours to help our team achieve whatever balance they are looking for. However, if it’s clear you have no real passion for us and are only interested in promoting yourself, we’ll be frank: this wont be the right company for you.
I couldn’t last a full year and was in a constant state of stress, at or outside of work, worrying about what I may have forgotten which would get me in trouble on a Monday. Another employee who the management actually liked was crying on the phone to her husband every lunchtime and ended up in therapy due to this work environment. The software is super faulty but you as a staff member will get blamed for it. Shamed for not being able to remember the huge amount of information required from the get go, even after spending week nights and weekends studying their material, Low pay,
Since working here for just about a year, I have received awesome opportunities to travel and work on exciting projects with clients. I came into this role with no prior experience and have received mentorship from team members and the CEO which has been invaluable. I study outside of work hours and have been supported fully to ensure I am happy and have the time to dedicate to study even though it is of no responsibility of the business.
This team is so encouraging, open and family orientated. Communication is key and if you put your hand up and say “I need help!”, it will come from all sides of the business.
It’s a very flat structured business meaning there’s no huge hierarchy and I get to work alongside the leaders of the business which has been a fantastic learning experience.
I could go on but I’ll leave it at that!
Cons
It can be really busy and the business is all about innovation, so if you are the type of person who likes a slower paced role it might be overwhelming!
