      Pros

      Flexible schedule, variety in duties. The trick to a good subbing experience is to connect with teachers who have great classes and who can keep requesting you and suggesting you to their coworkers. If you can get a building sub position in a school you love, that's even better.

      Cons

      No benefits with the exception of a weak 401K plan.

      Pros

      The hours, the flexibility, and the ability to have vacations when my kids did.

      Cons

      There was sometimes confusion about who to report to. Building subs was a new position when I started, so they were still working things out. It has gotten much better

      Pros

      Easy to pick up sub opportunities. If you make the best of building relationships with teachers and administration it is a great opportunity to network and find a long term role.

      Cons

      Pay is not that great.
