Pros
The people at the coalface are great to work with and work hard together for a good outcome. Most lower level managers are fantastic and appear to genuinely try their best to deliver good outcomes and support their team. Good facilities and office space.
Cons
- An old boy's club at the Senior leadership and Executive level who seem almost incapable of focusing their attention on the structural issues at the company. They appear more interested in playing politics and setting themselves up for a better role up the ladder. Too many 'protected species' who have been in this club so long that they can do no wrong and are stuck in their ways. - Communication is very poor, a lot of decisions made from the top down without consultation or room for discussion - Development teams are drastically under resourced and over committed. You are set up to fail and disappoint your customers with the outcome. - Salary is below market. They still stick to the misguided startup mindset that providing a pool table and beer on a Friday is equivalent to a good culture and perks, making up for the poor remuneration. - Real career and development opportunities are limited.
