Pros
Outstanding individuals work at this rapidly growing company. Both the management and the new hires that have been brought in are top-class. This company leads the way for women in the industry, and I have great admiration for the strong leaders they employ. I genuinely cherished my time with my managers and team members.
Cons
Telarus offers compensation that is noticeably lower than industry standards and even more so when compared to similar roles in other sectors. I encountered discrepancies between the communicated benefits and documented policies. This resulted in me being denied benefits that had been given to previous employees with longer tenure at the company, all without changing the policies to reflect this reduction of benefits. It's challenging to place trust in a company that doesn't consistently adhere to its own guidelines. There is a pronounced emphasis on sales, resulting in higher compensation for sales roles. This has subsequently led to certain positions being overvalued in terms of their actual skill & contribution. These roles seem more aligned with sales but are presented as expert, technical roles, leading to an imbalanced pay structure. An imbalanced pay structure is evident, where younger and newer employees are frequently sidelined or dismissed for 'lacking experience' or 'not knowing enough'. In reality, these employees are, at times, closer to current market trends and aren't entrenched in outdated ways of thinking due to prolonged tenure in a singular role at the company. Some longstanding employees, while seasoned, may not possess the level of skill and professionalism that their compensation suggests, especially when compared to the potential of newer talent. I remained with the company, enduring compensation that was significantly less than what I could have earned elsewhere, with the expectation of realizing the touted benefits and potential for better pay. However, after a few years of proactively seeking additional responsibilities, attempting to grow into pivotal roles, and making efforts to immerse myself in various processes for enhanced learning, I was consistently sidelined and relegated to menial tasks. It became evident that my value wasn't recognized. Consequently, I felt compelled to seek opportunities elsewhere due to Telarus' failure to uphold its promises. Lastly, the organizational culture at Telarus hints at a 'good ol' boys' club', with evident signs of nepotism, favoritism, and age discrimination.
