Pros

Pros: - Nice office - Compensated for parking

Cons

Cons: - The position titles don't make sense, which leads to my next point, - It is not a marketing job, it is sales. They say "we are not salespeople, we are promoters." Call it whatever you'd like, but everyone from marketing assistant to campaign manager to marketing director does the same thing to earn a paycheck: stands at a kiosk at a Sams Club/Target and tries to sell shoppers phones and phone plans. It feels very, very invasive and bad to force yourself onto customers in this way. - After getting hired, be prepared to do a LOT of off the clock work. They ask you to study every night, do practice scenarios, off the clock calls (phone or virtual meeting), etc. Additionally, the way they train employees is flawed; I have a masters in education, and can say confidently that memorizing by wrote a page a night and then writing it down again the next day is not the best way to learn. They also insist on it being memorized verbatim - just completely contrary to everything actual educators know as good teaching (not to mention makes you sound like a robot). - If we didn't do well in our training week, we were often told we "sucked" or asked "not to suck next time." Was a real morale builder! - The pay is hourly vs. commission. At the end of the week, you are paid whichever total is higher, your hours worked ($9.45/hour) or your total phones/plans sold ($75/line). This is fine, until you realize that it's cumulative - this means that if you sold 0 phones Mon-Wed, but had a great day Thurs and sold lets say 10 lines, you would essentially only be paid for Thursday and not Mon-Wed. In a time where worker's rights are being fought for, this ain't it. - There are absolutely zero COVID protocols in place. No vaccination check, nor masks, nor distancing. Often, we (approx. 20 people) were all in the same small room, speaking and shouting and such. Not really acceptable in 2020/21. - Despite the job ad and interview process saying otherwise, you will not have a set or consistent schedule. They don't let anyone work more than 45 hours/week (good!), but will not give you a consistent day off nor schedule, even if you have a family (I asked, was flatly denied). They say they "schedule based on growth," which is just a fancy way of saying that the workers belong to the company in their entirety. - All in all, what you're told will not be your experience - to be honest, I felt that every aspect of the job was obfuscated until my first day in the field. Felt completely bamboozled and scammed. Just be aware going in that this is a job where you'll have to ask every shopper, whether they want to talk to you or not, if they want to buy a phone and phone plan right there that day (in a department store? Who does this??). Because that's how everyone bottom to top gets paid. During my interview, I said "this sounds too good to be true." It was. Most of the reviews I see on here have the same cadence and use the exact same buzzwords and phrases they hammer into your head at orientation ("writing my own checks!" "my own boss!" "great work life balance!"). That was 100% contrary to my experience. I'm not saying you SHOULDN'T take the job, just that you should really consider each and every review before you do.
