Pros
Good work life balance Generous pension Work drinks / cupcakes once a month
Cons
It's a really terrible place to work. Aside from the mass redundancy move to Sheffield, because 'it's what headteachers want'- actual quote from the CEO (as if headteachers even care where Tes is based..) morale is really low for everyone left in the London office (which I am)- unless you're an engineer, ostensibly... No progression structure- it's not a particularly meritocratic environment, or inspiring place to work and it feels fairly stagnant. Tes aren't really doing anything new or exciting and the success of the business is fully reliant on the 'Tes' name, which can perhaps cause a sense of complacency among staff. Ultimately if you're ambitious/looking for a career it's probably not the place for you but would probably be a good job if you're ok with doing the same thing, day in day out. The office move, while perhaps necessary for the success of the business, has also shown that anyone is replaceable- which is worthwhile thinking about before taking a job here.
