Pros

Distributed remote-first team that works globally means autonomy.

Cons

The above also means a fractured leadership and chain of command.

Pros

From the outside things look sparkly and great. Inside and behind the curtain-not so great. The stars given are for a few people there who are exceptional at what they do and have integrity. I can't say the same for leadership.

Cons

The honeymoon period doesn't last long. Layoffs happened a year ago. The next day, promotions took place. I understand that sometimes layoffs need to happen, but there are ways to go about it where you treat people like human beings. Laptops were taken right away and it was difficult to get work for further employment. They say they are a family, but really are not when it comes down to it. At least not my definition of family. Supportive, honest, have values. Old school mentality regarding culture such as in your seats at 9am (with coffee in hand) and preferably no coats on chairs. Working from home was also frowned upon. Women had to fight for a breast pumping room and specific medical needs weren’t attended to in a supportive manner. #metoo (things happen, and no action is taken, unconscious bias-no eye contact, ideas not taken from females).
