Pros
This company does some interesting environmental work and can have great learning opportunities. The staff is knowledgeable with many mid-level managers being competent and good to their employees. There's a lot of opportunity for remote and hybrid work creating good work/life balance.
Cons
Each business unit can feel very siloed. There's little opportunity to meet and work with others outside your unit. The operational leaders of the units can act like small company CEO's with very top down management style. There's a lot of pressure on the engineers to be fully utilized leading to few training opportunities, or enrichment activities for the employees. This can cause an unengaged workforce and high turnover. If you're unlucky and get a poorly trained manager you can feel stuck, with little chance to move out of that situation.
