Pros
The wages' and benifits' are very good compared to alot of companies.
Cons
I don't know how it is in Wichita, but the service centers acrosss the country they treat you like a number and not a person. I felt that company did not value the work that we did. Maybe it's because in Kansas they are union and the outlaying centers are salaried non-exempt employees. It was more of a philosiphy of " work harder, work faster and you're going to work the weekend, right?". A comment was made by a senior management that they could replace us with a bunch of trained monkeys to do our jobs! At least that was the rumor that was spread. I personally did not hear it. But the way I was treated, I can believe it. I was pulled into the service center managers office and told that " I did not impress him with my work ethic and professonalism". This was after 12 years of service and not one negative review. I had lead our center for four years in the amount of overtime put in. And changed shifts to be the lead mechanic, at there request. And my manager tells me he is not "impressed"! To say the least I was very confused and disappointed. Why would you put a person you do not feel is worthy in a position of leadership? If he is not meeting your expectations, on three seperate occasions. You can do well at Cessna if you are given the right atmosphere and connections. Good Luck.
