Easy job, don’t need to recruit clients

Hourly rate is low, but is made up with good split on hourly training sessions

Leaving my role at The Battery was a difficult decision. Colleagues and club members were absolute highlights. The friendly vibe began to feel like extended family after awhile. Not a toxic culture by any means; my reasons for leaving were specific to poor communication within my department versus The Battery as a whole.

Communication around scheduling and staffing changes, along with what felt like preferential treatment toward team members, often felt opaque and resulted in rumors and a few months of unnecessary stress. It’s understandable that personnel and operational plans will evolve as business needs change; however, transparent communication around decisions affecting professional development, compensation and schedule structure would have been greatly appreciated, especially when the financial impact could be significant (upwards of 15% in my specific case).
