Pros

Ability to learn on the job w/ guidance and patience from supervisor & manager. Helps build my resume w/o needing to job hop Can be partially or fully reimbursed for taking continuing education courses Team is mostly remote—only need to come in for company wide meetings (caveat listed below in more detail) Creative team and cross-functional teams are all easy and pleasant to work with. It's a good group of people at TCS

Cons

Supervisor can sometimes nitpick and micromanage making work less enjoyable, draining, and frustrating. Those edits are so minute I have a hard time customers would notice something is off by 5-10px Frustrating when asked to do "something out of the box" and then that idea is completely squashed and never entertained. Either encourage & support the new directions or don't falsely ask for something different. The back and forth is exhausting. Don't always feel supported. Other teams at times ask for tight turnarounds from the design team and I don't feel we get support & pushback to say no those requests. As mentioned above, we need to come in for company wide meetings. My only gripe is that most of the team lives far away and spends upwards of $80-$100 on travel for one day in the office. Since going in person was not an initial requirement since 2020, I think we should be compensated in some way for this new policy. Either a stipend, pay bump, or reimbursement for travel. Don't mind going in the office more if it means my take home at the end of the month is the same
