Pros

Working with the kids is great, and every member of staff that I have met is amazing

Cons

No support or training for new teachers - only '5 induction sessions', and weekly Thursday training. Line managers take too long to reply to emails, or don't. It is hectic and you are often travelling. Stressful situations that could be dangerous are not given proper support.

Pros

The staff are amazing and creativity is heavily encouraged and embraced as a vehicle for learning. I love the variety in the role which can include teaching on the school sites and teaching offsite also.

Cons

Travel expenses are not covered for off site teachers which can be an unfair burden. Taking on extra organisational responsibility at the school can not result in a fair pay rise and work balance for some members of staff.

Pros

Good interview process and got a job offer

Cons

They never offered me a formal contract, yet continued inviting me to a “first day” induction. They asked to take my photo, view my DBS, add me to the team, and have me start work without any signed agreement. I had already completed the reference and vetting checks, but even then, no formal contract was provided. They appeared very eager for me to begin, despite my repeated requests for the contract they had promised. Based on my experience, I would advise others to be cautious.
