mostly supportive office manager but poor pay and high turnover - Administrator The Emily Program Employee Review

Pros

— TEP covers the copay cost of any behavioral medicine session if you're under their employer based health insurance umbrella — Office Manager is highly technically competent, excellent at organizing efficient workflows, and is flexible with scheduling — there is an opportunity to pick up "weekend programming" shifts, even for admin, which is either a monetary stipend on your paycheck or PTO

Cons

— the pay is subpar and you are expected to work well above your pay grade both in terms of administrative responsibilities and poor staffing — there are several admins who will micromanage you if you do or say something that they don't like, particularly in Leadership — there is high turnover that upper admin refuses to acknowledge, let alone attempt to remedy; because of this, many staff are stretched way too thin for months — you WILL be talked about behind your back by adult women — there is no real room for career growth. if a higher position does open, if you aren't white, blonde, and a Christian, you will not be promoted despite being more qualified or having been there significantly longer — administration can be extremely hypocritical and will go back on their word if you don't get it in writing re: discussions about performance, attendance, workplace duties, ANY interpersonal conflict— get as much as you possibly can in writing!!! — admin has a tendency to favor openly hostile and incompetent coworkers and you will be expected to pick up their slack indefinitely bc it's easier for them to turn a blind eye to any HR issue than attempt to hold unpleasant staff accountable and/or hire anyone else — you will not get paid more for said responsibilities, and you will watch your peers get away with performance issues or behavior that you'd 100% be disciplined for — annual wage increases are a complete joke

Pros

Great mental health experience and introduction into the field

Cons

Poor management that worsened after the company merged Poor pay structure and raise structures The companies culture tolerates hate and disrespect to staff and clients despite claiming to align with DEI practices. The company disregards staff safety, especially since the merger Changes to scheduling makes the job more difficult to accommodate school or other jobs (switched from 3 12 hour shifts to 4-5 8 hour shifts) When considering this job is common stepping off point for those seeking advanced degrees, the change was a huge mistake. Changes in scheduling and poor management results in common short staffing, constant turnover, and resulting poor quality of care for clients. This company cares about profits first and it a shell of its former vision and program.
