Pros

Great coworkers, patient and understanding higher ups who weren't afraid to chip in and get their hands dirty when we were short on staff, exciting and fun newsroom atmosphere, laidback attire

Cons

Often feel like we weren't getting paid nearly enough for how hard we worked, hours can lead to burn out, and some of the people that we worked with for the sister newspapers were questionable

Pros

Coworkers were very friendly, decent pay and mileage reimbursement.

Cons

The management will call your clients and offer them a lower price than you're allowed to offer, so then your clients will stop responding to you and contact the management to get a better deal for every advertisement they want to run. It is NOT outside sales. They'll tell you it is, but in reality you will spend about 85% of your week making cold calls and trying to sell over the phone, and maybe one day of the week you'll get to go out and see clients, but they will call you to come back to the office after about 2 hours. Also, after 6 months you go to commission which is 6%, and refer back to my opening statement for how you can expect making any money to go. ANDDD plan on being at work each day from about 8am-6:30pm. If something does not sell during normal work hours you WILL have to stay as long as it takes to sell over the phone after 5pm.
