Pros
This company takes marketing very seriously and is doing more lead generation marketing than probably any other company in Louisville. For that reason and many others, it's a very unique opportunity for those in Louisville that want to advance in the field of marketing, particularly around direct response and digital. For example, I know we spend over 3 times what Papa John does in paid digital marketing. In addition, I feel lucky to be working in an industry that is in the midst of a revolution. Education is broken in the U.S. and Learning House is contributing to providing options to those college students that do not have the time or the money to attend in the traditional manner. Lastly, because Learning House is growing so quickly there are lots of opportunities to take on new responsibilities and grow your skills for those that perform and have the drive to do so.
Cons
Learning House can be chaotic as growth is fierce and there's a lot of flexibility to shift gears towards working on other priorities. (Which can also be seen as a positive if you have that type of personality) From a marketing perspective, we are in a very competitive environment and it is difficult to have "big wins." In addition because we market a high ticket item (a college degree) - both in price and time - the sales cycle can be long and you don't get immediate feedback on the effectiveness of your marketing.
