Poor management and unpredictable hours lead to stress - Van Driver The Menu Partners Employee Review

Pros

Early Starts Early Finishes sometimes Typically have your own route so can build friendly relationships with the customers and familiarise yourself with area. Dependent on route the job can be relaxed.

Cons

You never know when you're going to finish even though its scheduled to be an 8 hour shift. When working 6 days a week (monday-saturday) you can't plan around your time off as on Sunday you just prepare for the week ahead again. Morale around the transport sector is disgraceful. Management make you feel like you're in trouble from the minute you've walked in to start work so its a feeling of unease at all times at the depot. Overall lots of unnecessary sarcasm (to make you feel stupid), shouting & micro managing. 0 Benefits except uniform. No: performance bonus, free/opportunity to purchase goods going soon out of date or partnerships with restaurants offering employee discounts. No Official Time for a break. Time planning for 2nd deliveries. You can be sat around for hours doing nothing but when your finishing time is approaching (30 minutes i.e.) and they want to send you 1 hour away, you cant say no as that is 'refusing to do your job'.

Pros

Great team with a nice variation of work, really enjoyable. Hours work for me and opportunity to progress if I want too. Management team friendly and helpful. Good rate of pay.

Cons

It would be good to have more company social events outside of work hours.
