Pros

As an Emergency Response Specialist, you’ll have the opportunity to work with amazing people, do great things, and do disaster work in the oil and gas industry. The job is great and has the potential to be a great company. Company allows you to gain experience fast by providing opportunities to work in situations most Emergency Managers barely experience in their life time. The company is flexible to what your home life is. TRG will work with you if need to stay home due to family/health reasons and allow to work remotely if needed.

Cons

Travel is 100% based on the needs of the company. Travel can very well be 25-50% or can be 100% for months straight. It is difficult to maintain any sort of work life balance and relationships. A lot of people who have worked at TRG for a long time might discredit others who have given their honest feedback on this site. There are two side to every story. There is a lot of judgement and pressure if you’re not willing to give up your entire life for this job. Based on the current staffing levels and distribution of work, it’s standard to work more than a 40 hour work week. Supervisory positions are solely used as reason to give a pay increase. In turn, these supervisors are often unqualified to manage their teams. Management is overwhelmed with additional tasking and barely have the time to manage the company. Upward mobility can be difficult, but getting a raise is almost impossible without threatening to quit. No such thing as yearly raises. Most people that have been with the company 10+ years have received 2-3 raises, which they threatened to quit to receive.

Pros

Work Travel if you enjoy that Airline and Hotel Points Client Networking Hard workers on GIS Team

Cons

Overworked, underappreciated. The GIS department consists mostly of recent college grads that are in need of experience. In my experience 3-4 GIS Specialists quit every year. Work Concerns are overlooked when brought up. (Reactive not Proactive) No direction or decisions from upper management. Raises are hard to come by; require promotions that are not discussed before hand. Expect slow to no answers to simple questions or guidance. The culture is highly unprofessional and inappropriate. Steer clear of this place as a professional woman.
