Pros

You get quite a lot perks working here - access to private health insurance, decent salary and two days wfh. Career opportunities are good if you are able to handle the pressure.

Cons

The work culture here is dysfunctional, the amount of work and pressure is at times unbearable. People burn out every few months, have had to be taken off work from stress, heart problems, health problems. So much pressure and a completely disorganised work process. Nearly everyone I talk to wants to leave and have been there for only a year. Turnover is high. Maybe part of working for a media company.

Pros

Tons of opportunities to chase stories and hone reporting skills. Interns are given a lot of responsibility and assumed to have a high competence level. Journalists in DC office are excellent and great mentors.

Cons

Some administrative work, but that's to be expected. Internships are not extended beyond their one semester term
