Pros
Awesome support and company culture! Training program may be challenging but well curated and well delivered. Trainers are not only knowledgeable in their topics, but they also share a lot of best practices. Really helps you have the proper mindset - how to face challenges, how to wow clients, how to be professional in your job. The training will help you become a multi-skilled VA. Even if you're not too comfortable making calls (like introvert me!), you will learn to go beyond your comfort zone. Professional support is readily available. Company policies are accessible for you to review what you signed up for. Business advisors share some insights on what a potential client needs so you can integrate those in preparing for your interviews. Team Managers are always willing to help. The other VAs also share tips, tricks, hacks and tools with each other. They also share a lot of valuable insights, not only for your professional life, but also for your personal/family life as well. So there's a good culture here of VAs helping each other out. The whole team advocate work-life balance which shows in their reminders and messages to VAs and, as part of the guidelines when they onboard new clients. Administrative team is pretty straightforward, timely and professional. Like in most companies naman there will be paperwork that you have to comply with. Nothing looks like an "excessive" requirement (Gawd! Try working in civil service!) and they give you ample and reasonable time to submit or inform them of when your documents will be submitted. Payment is processed and paid on time -- though most of the time early. That is, IF you have completed your paperwork (Pretty standard, if you ask me!). The pay is more than adequate, with opportunities for hourly rate increases. The hourly rate may be slightly lower than if you're working with a direct client who's willing to pay premium price. But for a newbie, it is not a low-ball. If you're working full time, the monthly pay is already way more than the average starting monthly wage in BPOs.
Cons
Since VAs are independent contractors, there are no mandatory benefits e.g. SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-Ibig. It's the same if you will be working freelance or direct-to-client, you'll have to take care of all those on your own. You can't really choose your client and line of business. BUT you will be given the opportunity for the client to choose YOU.
