Psychologically unsafe place to work - Anonymous employee Thematic Employee Review

Toxic. Leadership lack people skills. There is a lack of empathy and respect towards employees. The company focuses on short term results over employee wellbeing causing burnout and impacting employees mental health. Communication towards employees can be condescending and patronising, sometimes aggressive - yelling and slapping the desk in meetings. Instructions from leadership can be vague. Tears are not uncommon from employees, in meetings or behind the scenes. Employees are reprimanded in a public setting. Employees are too scared to voice their opinions due to disrespectful nature and retribution. Reimbursement for out of pocket expenses needed to be chased. I feel the company lacks direction and I would be surprised to see them growing out of the start up phase.
