Pros
Coworkers, Therapists, kiddo’s are sweet and so are family
Cons
There is so much to unpack about this place in general. If you think of applying, don’t. It is such a mess and it is all over the place. 1. The lack of communication- There is practically no communication when it comes to your issues. You can voice your opinions, concerns, or questions, nobody will get back to you promptly. There is a major lack in communication and it is apparent no matter what position you are in. 2. Pay- When you first start, you do your whole onboarding process and you even get to put in your bank information only for your pay to come in check form. What was the point of my bank information if there is no direct deposit? Now there is direct deposit, but in partial payments because this company is likely going out of business with the shady practices currently going on. For our pay for June 30th, they sent out 7% on July 6th, and 5.95% on July 8th…and that is to those who are currently employed. As of recently, July 9th, they will send money that will be a total of approximately 55%. I am unsure on the 55% only because they likely already removed me off of payroll since I am leaving. They let go one of our front desk lady and they will “eventually” pay her, but they are going to pay the employers that are currently there working for them at this moment. They are giving me the same treatment to “eventually” pay me. I reached out to payroll about it, but again, they lack communication. 3. Changes- so many changes have occurred when I started here. At first it was good, until one day we had a meeting with the CEO, Emilie Willis. The meeting was in regards of starting classes for kids. Eventually it came to a point where every therapist was doing classes and there were no more individual sessions. Parents were frustrated, therapists were upset, kids who were not fit for classes were just placed in a different class, and sometimes you would have one therapist with a group of 7-8 kids in one class. As a tech, there were insane changes like having meetings every Friday’s and Wednesday’s on practically being a therapist to manage the class. So now it was up to the tech’s, with no prior experience or education in speech therapy or group therapy, managing a class of 7 kids while the therapists would come in to work on one kiddo at a time. This didn’t work so there was a major halt on classes altogether. Classes were to slowly be let to die out. You will CONSTANTLY encounter changes. There is no thought process behind each change and you can tell. Even Emilie’s motto was “We will try it, and then make it better.” Unfortunately you can’t just try an idea you just had the night before and expect the changes to occur in THAT moment. It’s unfair to everyone. It also never got better because the ideas were never flushed out to begin with, she has an idea and the next day she uses it. Now what started as techs helping therapists and cleaning up rooms with therapists has now turned into a nightmare of a job. By the way, a major change that happened was when we had to let go of the cleaning lady because they couldn’t afford her anymore. So now the techs are left to do janitorial duty, helping therapists, do the telehealth assisted sessions, paperwork, be backup front desk, scheduling, and so many more that it is just too much at this point. The changes have no thought process behind them and it shows. 3. AI and VA’s- CONSTANT use of AI that Emilie is so comfortable with. During classes, it was the tech’s job to create lesson plans for each therapist and their class of 8 kids. We were not given a sheet to fill information or some guide on checking charts. We were given a prompt to feed into ChatGPT and Gemini, and then we take sensitive information such as kids names, chart numbers, private information, what they were working on, and even home management, and we would feed all of that info into ChatGPT so that it can create a lesson plan for the therapist. I personally feel like that is completely wrong, especially since the information is being given to AI, I’m sure those kid’s health records and information is now somewhere in the hands of a major corporation like google or AI data centers now. Along with AI, we also have VA’s which are virtual assistants. The VA’s are very nice and sweet people, but these are real people who are working from the Philippines. How can someone from the Philippines understand how to help run a business in Phoenix, Arizona??? The VA’s started as helpers to keep track of billing, and manage our front desk. Unfortunately, they replaced our front desk and even our location had to let go one of our front desk lady. Now there is no front desk. The only people in front desk are 2 VA’s who are being seen through a webcam and in a monitor. The parents are struggling to understand them, giving card information out loud in a waiting room full of people, and scheduling kid’s appointments in a room full of people. This definitely is not a good way to go about this at all. Want to talk to the office manager? Well now that is also a VA too. Unfortunately, you can email our office manger for any issues you have as a worker and as a parent. VA’s and AI’s is not a good way at all to run a business. 4. Benefits- you practically have none. Your PTO is accumulated in an exceptionally slow pace, and so is your sick time off. You can’t even use your PTO or STO until you completed 90 days of working here. You are given to apply for benefits such as dental, health, and vision, but unfortunately you might not receive that. One of our therapist was asking me about the health insurance, and I told her I never received mine and she hasn’t received hers. She tired to reach out to HR, but they have not gotten back her. What I do know is that your insurance is with Guardian, reading reviews online, it isn’t a good insurance. If you do decide to work here, you will likely leave before your 90 days so you’d just be wasting your time and never be able to use your benefits to your advantage. Also, you will NOT be paid out for the time you do accumulate for PTO and STO, so if you decide to put in your 2 weeks and have not used your PTO or STO, you will not be paid out for that. There are also really strict and specific rules about using PTO and STO in the middle of your resignation, they would most likely cut your resignation earlier before you can use your time off. 5. Don’t even bother- Therapists are leaving left to right, 2 locations have currently closed because they couldn’t afford to pay the landlord, and you won’t be seeing your pay in full until 2 weeks later. We still haven’t gotten paid fully for June 30th and we are already in July 10th. This company does not care about you at all. Your coworkers are your best friends because of trauma-bonding. You don’t have direct deposit, you won’t get paid on time, you likely won’t be reimbursed for late payments on rent that isn’t even your fault, the communication is horrible, the changes are constant with no time to breathe. Stay away from this clinic and look for elsewhere.
