Pros

Nice, respectful co-workers who are fun to work with

Cons

Hilariously bad pay Menial grunt work that wasn't outlined in job description; many of the day to day tasks are hurtling towards automation Bad office location A chasm between self professed progressive values (see company mission statement) and actual contracts that were picked up. The most glaring example of this was an ad campaign trying to put a positive spin on evicting long terms tenants from public housing in Melbourne.

Pros

Think HQ is filled with some of the greatest people you will get to work with. Genuinely caring people to spend your 40 hour weeks with. Though everyone comes from different disciplines, there is room at the table for everyone's experience, and the diversity in briefs and projects allows for all teams to lead and flex their respective muscle. In my nearly five years of working there, it was extremely rare to have to work longer hours (unless a prior agreed event or engagement) even in times of busy briefs, new business etc. A work-life balance is celebrated, and managers look out for their line reports well being. Above all, there is opportunity galore - if you have the appetite to go after them. It's an environment where initiative is welcomed. If you have an idea and want to make it happen, you'll get the support to do it. An environment for go-getters and genuine team players.

Cons

As with all agencies, workload and priorities ebb and flow. If you don't want to have to be flexible or agile in your work, then maybe not the best place for you.

Pros

There are some genuinely good people who work there and are trying their best despite the challenges faced.

Cons

My experience was shaped by significant challenges in a work environment marked by poor leadership, a lack of accountability, and inadequate management practices. Leadership turnover was high, with four or more CDs cycling through. The most recent CD would appear pleasant to me around co-workers, but behind closed doors, it was the opposite and very awkward and uncomfortable. The toxic culture amongst senior management was evident; I felt there was no one I could turn to for help or advice. They would also routinely ‘forget’ to book a meeting room for our one-on-one meetings. As a result, we often met in the prayer room, which had only one chair, leaving me to sit on the floor, an unnecessary and uncomfortable dynamic. These meetings provided little constructive feedback and instead felt overly critical and would gatekeep information, undermining my confidence and leaving me without support. Trust was further eroded when personal information I had shared in good faith was later used against me. Eventually, this CD and another manager worked together in ways that felt belittling and petty by making up instances of missing important deadlines, etc., reinforcing an already toxic environment. The lack of leadership, support, and professionalism contributed to severe burnout and, ultimately, a deep depression. After taking three months of personal leave to recover, I made the difficult decision not to return due to the lasting impact this experience had on my well-being.
