Pros
- Dedicated staff working towards a unified goal of making something well designed and sensible in the high end luxury hospitality market
- Alessia Genova is incredibly detail oriented with her designs, creates a sophisticated palette and is ready and willing to mentor younger staff members
- When working there - I was able to get to work on a variety of projects from hotels, restaurants and specialty projects such as cruise-lines in locations all around the world. It was very dynamic and always was of the highest design.
- Smaller office so everyone wore multiple hats which helped with the growth curve
-Teams were smaller and encouraged design point of view from all staff members, readily welcoming of all ideas
- Highly customized work - everything was custom from the furniture to the silk rugs. The design always told a story and flawlessly executed to fit the client needs
- Learned a lot about the customization of furniture and the steps taken to review each piece! Really interesting to see how something drawn in CAD is then built and then further customized after the mock up is made!
Cons
- Didn't attend client meetings - which may have been due to scheduling as I was working on my masters and went to classes 2 days a week
- Long hours - finding that this is an industry standard
