Pros

Coworkers are mostly nice, if grumpy.

Cons

They don’t offer anything attractive. Terrible hours, no perks to speak of. Nothing compared to what we could get in the Denver market. Employees are micromanaged and told that IT reads everything we write, so we can’t write anything that isn’t happy and nice, regardless of reality. Management keeps hiring people who realize we have nothing to offer and leave. I thought it would get better after the move from California, but it is just weirder. Plus, there’s still no real opportunity to advance unless you are or become a man and are best friends with whoever is two tiers above you.

Pros

I love my job and the people I work with. We have a great culture.

Cons

We are a nonprofit. As such, we pay like a nonprofit.

Pros

They always paid on time, and the benefits were adequate. If you get a good supervisor, it could be a nice place to work, but there is so much inconsistency across different departments.

Cons

When I first applied for the job, I saw how bad all of their reviews were. However, after meeting my team in the interview stage, I decided to ignore that. My team was good. Unfortunately, after conflicts with upper management, they all left, and that was when things got bad. I reported directly to someone high up in leadership. He had no idea what my job was and was not able to offer any guidance or training, despite my asking and being very honest with him that I did not have the experience of my former team members. I eventually left after he made it clear that dominating employees was more important to him than helping us do our work or providing good-quality services to our members. The lies and manipulation tactics used were as obvious as they were gross. HR is empathetic, but it was clear after many, many, many employees had given honest, detailed feedback about this leader specifically and in writing, that they will not do anything to intervene. If you decide to join the company, especially in the Marketing and Communications Division, everyone will tell you the exact same thing, just like they told me when I first started.
