Pros
4 day working week is a genuine perk and makes a real difference to work-life balance. The team itself is brilliant — talented, friendly people who make the day to day enjoyable. A note on reviews — staff are actively encouraged and rewarded for leaving positive reviews. Make of that what you will when reading other ratings for this company.
Cons
Senior management is where the experience falls down significantly. From a disorganised onboarding through to my final day, every interaction with leadership was unnecessarily stressful and poorly handled. There is zero autonomy. Senior management dictate what you work on and how you do it, somehow managing to be micromanaging and completely hands off, yet when things don’t go as they expected the blame is placed squarely on the employee rather than the direction they imposed. It’s a frustrating and demoralising way to work, particularly for anyone hired for their expertise. The owner has an obsession with AI that borders on distracting — it is prioritised above sound strategy, good process and basic project management. There appears to be a fundamental misunderstanding of how marketing and project management actually work at a senior level, which creates confusion and inefficiency for the people trying to deliver real work beneath them. When challenged, the response from senior leadership is thin-skinned and unprofessional rather than constructive. This creates an environment where people are reluctant to raise issues or push back, even when the direction they’re being given is wrong. My offboarding experience was the most concerning aspect. Final pay was withheld on payday without any prior notice and made conditional on completing a handover, raising serious questions about compliance with employment law. It left me seriously considering escalating to ACAS — not something you expect from any employer, let alone a small business trying to attract and retain talent.
