Pros

Coming out of college, this was a good place to begin my career. I learned a lot about the SEO and web development/design industries, and the skills I learned at TM have helped me throughout my professional career. The office environment was designed to be a fun, friendly environment, and that was true for the most part. The "worker bees" at TM are great to work with and are what makes the agency tick on a day-to-day basis.

Cons

Upper management doesn't respect or value employees the way they should. Employees are treated as machines that could be easily replaced at a moment's notice, which isn't true. There were also many times in my tenure in which the CEO would say sexist, inappropriate or insulting things to employees under the guise of a joke. Working overtime was often considered a necessity, and it was usually because management continually sold projects in which there was no time for. There was little consideration for the workload being laid upon employees. Instead of adjusting project timelines to fit into employees' schedules, management often had a "just get it done" mentality. Instead of taking an active role in ensuring new employees were fully trained and brought up to speed on industry standards, company practices, policies, etc., that burden was laid on on the backs of more "senior" employees, further adding to their already unnecessarily heavy workload. Lastly, management often seems more concerned with saying the right things instead of doing them. This includes things promised to clients and employees alike. False promises were often the basis of many decisions.

Obviously an individual's cultural, personal growth, financial needs and expectations can be quite different from others within any organization. We've grown and continue to weather the storm of our industry and found that continuous investments in technology, training and exploring new tools and processes provides the best ROI long-term for everyone, not just the company bottom line. The agency life is by no means easy for all involved and frequently shifting and learning on the fly has to happen. While certainly a challenge, we've been able to navigate the ebbs and flows - never too high and never too low. This means keeping a consistent staff and client roster. The nature of our business - the agency business - means often wearing multiple hats, crazy deadlines and seemingly unrealistic expectations. We don't create these, typically they are handed to us and we simply need to adapt to survive. Those that don't lose contracts and then have to purge staff handing out pink slips. Thankfully we've never been in that position. Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We wish you the best in your hunt for the perfect employer.

Pros

Awesome team to begin with! If you're a developer and you want to grow in your skills as a Full Stack dev in an agency. This is a great place to start with! I worked with very very smart people and they will fully trust you that you know what you're doing. I was given opportunities to grow my skills and I gain a ton of experience, and I was treated great by management. Overall, awesome company!

Cons

Nothing much really! Awesome team and management! The reason I left is due to personal family concerns.

Pros

This was my first internship and while I don't really feel like I gained all that much from it, I don't necessarily regret doing it. The work you do at TM as an intern really isn't that substantial. I did learn a bit about SEO which was nice, but as an art director, it's not super helpful. I got to design some cool things and it was nice to be able to get feedback from the creative director. The office is nice and it was fun being in Royal Oak.

Cons

The people overall are cool but a couple of the higher-ups left a bad taste in my mouth. There was an instance where I was actually sat down and given a lecture about showing up on time after another intern was late (I was literally always on time). I felt like I was in high school while I was condescendingly talked to for something I didn't do. This interaction was insanely unprofessional and I actually couldn't believe it happened. They also hardly pay you ($15 per day). There is absolutely no excuse anymore to not pay interns. Honestly I don't really know of any other agencies in the area that offer unpaid internships. It devalues the position and makes the internship feel unsubstantial. I also had to ask three or four times after being there for about a month if I had to fill anything out to get paid and when I actually was going to get paid. Overall, it wasn't a horrible experience but after interning at two other agencies, I found TM left a lot to be desired.

Dear Anonymous, The timing of this review is odd; we haven’t had an intern in almost two years now. Our program offered a package, lot's of flexibility in scheduling and had each person being integrated with many facets of an agency. All interns were interviewed and those we though fit our format were offered a internship with full details on what was expected and what was provided including compensation. No one forced anyone to take an internship position with us. In the future should you find yourself in a similar position of unhappiness in your employment you should discuss those with a supervisor to seek positive resolution. With all this being said we would be happy to discuss further offline if you are so inclined.
