- Knowledgeable, friendly & helpful seniors and leads at Tech team. - Supportive teammates. - Strong team spirit. - Tech leads are open-minded, willing to listen and implement new tech as long as it brings positive impacts to the project. - Opportunities for growth & external trainings. - Average compensation package and increment, not below average but definitely not very competitive as well. - Flexible working hours. Will we recommend friends to join as a software developer? Probably no at the moment if they want work-life balance and an employee-oriented management culture. Cons
- Top management lacks professionalism in communication (poor manners and tones) and planning. - Some stakeholders/top management from non-tech show incompetence in Agile methodology, suggest to have trainings on the basic of agile methodology (such as agile ceremonies ) as the project is implemented via SCRUM. - Have to compromise the quality of the developed software due to tight timeline and eventually resulting in spending more resources at fixing unforeseen issues, we developers are demoralised as we are the ones who take the blame often time. - In recent months, we hardly able to create work-life balance due to unrealistic expectations in the project backlogs. From my humble opinion, it is a sign of inexperience in planning and lack effective communication in the Product team, especially when we comparing to those in a more mature organisation. It also perfectly illustrated the scenario where some people have the mindset of "1 woman delivers a baby in 10 months, 10 women deliver a baby in 1 month". Overall, the experience is really disappointing, we hope these constructive feedback will help. Also, we are sincerely grateful that HR is doing their best and has started to step in to understand these issues from the tech team, and try to resolve them for a sustainable work culture/environment to retain and attract tech talents.
