Pros
*Apply to be a FLEX Officer: Guaranteed 32hrs/wk, No Mandatory Overtime, PRIORITY Pick-Choose-Refuse your sites and shifts,... tons of overtime available (if you're an OT hog),... NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.
Cons
Unfortunately, if you weren't able to get a FLEX Officer position,... Regular Officer Schedules are ONLY projected 5-7 days out. Very difficult to plan your life, if you don't know where or when you have to work at least 2-3+ weeks out. *Schedulers are known to threaten Officers to cover shifts they can't, or take OT they don't want to prevent sites from going dark. *Officers who request time off, in some cases 4-6 weeks in advance, are often denied simply because the Time-Off Request was never reviewed due to an ongoing backlog. *The logic behind why some Officers are assigned to sites more than an hour away from their home address,... -is beyond comprehension. *Overall,... I felt like I was walking on eggshells EVERY DAY. -You could be written up for ANYTHING or, a Client could complain about ANYTHING, -didn't matter if it was true, false or imaginary. Turnover is the highest in the valley.
