Pros
I really liked the job and feel that many of the reviews I read here were unfair . I knew going in this was a job that had no benefits and was going to only last until all the AMR's were installed . I had my own truck and I kept it clean , if I had a day of all gas meters outside I would just do all my meters and go home early and get paid for the whole day . I could do 12 meters a hour so I could finish in around 5 hours .I lost about 20 lbs. while on the job from all the walking and never felt so fit , it was really a great workout . I never had problems with my boss but they did change management in the middle of the job and the new boss didn't have a personality . I was in training for about a week and felt the training was too long . If I could do this job again I would , actually hoping they do the electric meters in our town soon .
Cons
Working in the very bad parts of town was not fun if you know what I mean , doing meters inside the houses also sometimes was a big pain . Sometimes you had customers who don't like the utility companies and they will take it out on you , I just smiled and said "thank you" and walked away .
