Trugreen is a giant in the industry. As is the case with many companies their size, they are completely disconnected from the employess-especially the lawn techs. Techs are routinely expected to do upwards of $17-18,000 per day. In many routes thats somewhere between 35-40 stops. The actual physical demand is never considered, only the financial goal. You're expected to complete every stop every day while ALSO meeting sales goals, even though they have an entire staff of full time sales guys.
Then, once they've pushed these high numbers all year and blown through the customer base they lay all the techs off every year, right before the holidays.
While you're laid off they don't cover your insurance, so you get a huge bill for that which you have to pay by January or you lose your insurance.
Their starting pay is one of the lowest in the industry, and raises only come once a year. The average raise there equates to somewhere between .25 to .30 cents, so it takes years to reach a point where you're making decent money. I left as I was approaching my 10th year and I still wasn't making $17 an hour. There are much smaller companies out there paying that for entry level guys with no experience.
