Pros

Innovative business model addressing a real need for older homeowners seeking liquidity without leaving their homes. Smart and mission-driven colleagues who genuinely care about customers. Strong exposure to real estate, financial products and consultative sales. Employees have the opportunity to work with talented people and gain experience in a fast growing startup environment.

Cons

Rapid growth and challenging market conditions created frequent shifts in strategy, underwriting standards and sales expectations. As interest rates rose and the real estate market changed, qualification requirements became more restrictive, making it challenging to convert opportunities. Client mix also shifted to support those needing financial liquidity over supporting primarily seniors looking to age in place.

Pros

Remote work and insurance is affordable.

Cons

-Inconsistent performance expectations and micromanagement -Never received a breakdown of commission pay. No idea if it was correct. It was a "receive your blessing and be grateful for it" situation. -A downfall of many start-ups is that people are promoted for longevity and dedication, whether or not they have the ability. This leads to the wrong people in the wrong positions, creating low morale and heavy-handed management because there is no leadership ability. -Every team manager crosses boundaries and quickly jumps in to tell other team members how to do their job -No recognition for accomplishments -No communication between teams. People and entire teams would be out of office with no notice, creating huge inefficiencies. -The product is misleading and preys upon people in financial difficulties. The elderly, especially, are very vulnerable to what selling their home to this company is for the future. -I was hired with a certain schedule expectation (regular 8-5 grind with some weekends), which changed dramatically, requiring evenings, scheduled weekends, and holidays (people are NOT waiting for a telemarketing call on a holiday.)
