Pros

Going home at 5pm on Friday not having to return until Monday!

Cons

Where do I start: No fun, sit in silence from 8.30 until 5pm with only the sound of a tapping keyboard - banter is none existent, partly because you are made to feel like you cannot speak, partly because most of the employees are devoid of a personality! (there are the odd few fantastic people) I was openly bullied by my manager in the IT Department and when I raised it with her manager it was put down to a clash of personalities despite me having plenty of evidence and witnesses who had witnessed her bullying me! to those who can't see through her she comes across as all sweetness and like, but the reality is that she is the most objectionable woman I have ever had the displeasure to meet, rude, no people skills, bossy and most of the people she thinks she's in there with can't stand her in reality! and for someone working in a company which relies heavily on foreign markets, wasn't aware they spoke French in Belgium! (I had great pleasure in pointing that out when she tried to berate me in front of everyone to try to make me look silly by asking why I was checking French on a Belgium website in her usual sneering manner!) I think that's why she picks on people - to make up for her own shortcomings! She is a waste of space as a manager of people - she has no people skills having once told a colleague in her 121 that there was no chance for her to progress in IT "because I'm not going anywhere" neither does she listen, she has two ears and one mouth, but she doesn't use them in that order, she likes the sound of her own annoying voice too much!! Management don't give two hoots, they were happy for the bullying to continue, suggesting a clash of personalities - which is a bit of an understatement to say the least - I'd happily launch the woman. (She has since made 2 other good members of the IT team leave the company, I guess she just moves onto the next person once her current victim finally has enough and leaves!) Some of the product managers are a waste of space and whoever has the loudest voice or biggest chip on their shoulder get what they want. I can truly say that working for this company was the worse 18 months of my life! It made me ill!!

Pros

Easy to get in, no wonders...

Cons

Half an hour lunch break at your PC desk yet only one microwave for the whole call-centre. Fast, incomplete basic training (one day!) = a JOKE, given by a grumpy and impatient man. Following this, the "friendly colleagues" who were supposed to help me "learn while doing" were in fact on my case every minute, ready to pounce and loudly criticise. When I asked them if they could help me revise or learn some work procedures, I had to wait for an age and was showed a few links so speedily that I couldn't even take any note. I was required to do a long technical translation on my 2nd day there and was reproached for "not doing my job" in the meanwhile. Had to finish the damn translation at home while I cared for my partner who had cancer (which my colleagues knew about). On the next morning, as I looked a bit tired and had no makeup on, I was told: "Oh my god, you're looking AWFUL!" One day, after I came back from a technical extra training session, I looked for my car keys. Grinning, my French colleague mentioned a specific type of French food which I kept in my car (a treat paste in a tube, made of chestnuts and sugar). When I arrived on the car park after work, a nice Dutch collegue pointed to my car door: the keys were in my car door keyhole. Obviously, the French woman had had a good sneak in while I was in training - she must have rushed back to the centre and left the keys in the door. Despite I reported those issues to our manager, nothing was said and the abuse carried on. My French colleague was racistic against Belgian people and did not tolerate anyone who wasn't. She also told me personal information about another colleague and made fun of him "because" he was "gay". I quit after 3 weeks and was given sarcasm in the middle of the call-centre when I gathered my belongings and left my desk. Ever since then, I have seen regular ads for this job, sometimes every two weeks.
