Cons
The business banker at this location is extremely dramatic and loud, even when taking care of customers or talking on the phone. She is not discrete with secure customer information. She's constantly on the phone with her family or leaving work to go out shopping when she gets "frustrated." She is a hypocrite and doesn't let her employees have any fun or even laugh with each other. Get written up for being one minute late while she comes in at 10:30am and leaves at 4pm EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. Talks behind all employees and customer's backs. Came in two hours late for my first day and was extremely unprepared and let the tellers figure it out. Compares workers to each-other and tells the people below her they are not as intelligent as her because she's been there longer. Said word for word: employees were much smarter than I, even though I was hired before they were - then made me cry & proceeded to tell me I was too emotional. Told me she was done teaching me procedures and to call someone else if I had questions. Would not speak to me or answer anything from that point forward. Told operations she was "no longer talking to me" after I had called them 50+ times to fix issues and somehow they were okay with that? Makes up her own rules on a daily basis. Falsely accused an employee of stealing money and said they were going to jail. Told the employee she didn't like their father (a Trustco customer who is no longer a member after THAT experience) and couldn't believe that the employee takes care of their disabled brother AND works for Trustco. This Business Banker said their employee should send him to a nursing home, just like she wants to do with her mother - all because the employee needed to be more PRESENT at work and NOT be answering emergency messages from their disabled brother even though they still are his main care-taker during the workday, and everyday - 24/7. She is constantly handing over work to other employees that she doesn't feel like doing - but is her responsibility. This Business Banker is constantly on her cell phone but writes up employees for being on theirs. Also, according to her, we work for HER, not TRUSTCO. But I'm pretty sure we signed a contract for Trustco... HR does not recognize any of this even though she's gotten handfuls of complains from customers and employees. She is completely intolerable and will make your life absolutely miserable. Do not work at the Clifton Country Road Branch if you want to maintain your sanity. We all know you'll never fire this Business Banker in particular because she "meets her goals" while tearing people down and forcing older incompetent customers and her family to sign up for more and more accounts that they can just close out a month later, just so she can get her bonus. Blames other employees if she does not receive her bonus and says it's their fault. She uses her family to get promotional offers and forges signatures for her mother, niece, nephew and more without any of them being present or having her name on the account. She has worked there for over 30 years and learned how to work the system. Get real. Our customers cannot STAND her and always ask why she is yelling, hasn't been fired yet, why she is rude to them, and extremely dismissive especially before she eats lunch because that's more important to her than helping her customers or employees. Customers have come to the employees and expressed how bad they feel for us. She does not care about anyone but herself. Will not help or train her new employees because they already "went through training" which lasted a week or two and was an absolute *disaster.* She expects you to know everything because you're working for "her" and she is the "best!" Good luck. Your bank is broke. CAPCOM and SEFCU is so welcoming with open arms :) better benefits, more vacation time, more employees, and a *hefty* raise! I'll make sure to refer my Trustco regulars to Broadview Credit Union when I am fully trained (which lasts three months - take notes, Trustco.)
