      Pros

      Great programs for working mothers, state employment benefits, great people.

      Cons

      Tough to get bigger salary increase unless you move positions. Budgets for merits are limited; but this is the case with many state employee jobs. Benefits, time paid off, work from home options far outweigh these cons in my opinion.
