Pros

The mission of the company and the fellow staff at the “worker” level are great.

Cons

The leadership of the company has lost its path, way too much executive overhead, yet drive “cost cutting” measures down to staff who actually do the real work. Taking away deals from staff (going to desk sharing spaces), recently cut pensions and 401k benefits, and no stock options for workers (only stock grants for executives). Once the CEO leaves the company might have a change at improvement again. I could t take it and had to leave.

Thank you for sharing your feedback and experience. Healthcare costs are increasing not just at UL Solutions, but across the United States. UL Solutions continues to cover a majority of healthcare expenses while offering multiple coverage options for employees to receive care. Additionally, we offer a generous 401k match, paid volunteer time off, tuition reimbursement, employee stock purchase program and more. Our mission of working for a safer world remains unchanged.

Pros

Strong brand reputation and credibility in the marketplace. Excellent opportunity to gain experience in sales, compliance, testing, certification, and regulatory industries. Friendly, knowledgeable, and collaborative colleagues who are willing to help each other succeed. Good work-life balance compared to many sales organizations. Stable business with diverse industries and customers. Professional development opportunities and exposure to complex customer challenges.

Cons

Typical large-company bureaucracy can slow decision-making and execution. Internal processes and approvals may require patience and persistence. Organizational complexity can sometimes create challenges when navigating cross-functional initiatives. Career progression may occasionally depend on understanding and adapting to corporate dynamics.
