Pros
- The one week annual leave I had away from the office was the best time I've had since working at this company
Cons
- Salary was below average of industry standards - SUCH a toxic work/life balance. You are essentially penalised for having a personal life...even on the weekends... - Massive lack of diversity considering the name of the company. I could see the impact this had on the odd POC hired (and later fired). In hindsight, they appear to have been hired to check a diversity quota. - They evidently overcompensate for their lack of structure and business success by constant false advertising and marketing on LinkedIn. So essentially you're sold a dream. - Terrible office culture. The amount of misogynistic and degrading comments I heard casually flying about will make your skin crawl. On top of that, there is no HR system which just means upper management get away with anything and everything. - Founder is a complete and utter narcissist. Thinks WAY too much of himself and needs to be humbled to be honest. - No internal structure and no outlook for personal and professional growth within the company although its promised to you. - Clear favouritism within the company to the point it makes you feel uncomfortable. - Be mindful when looking for new jobs as the founder will attempt to tarnish your reputation/career. However, you won't have to mention your bad experience at UMATR to prospect employers because his bad reputation precedes him. - Office is outdated, cramped and very stressful to work in when management is breathing down your neck 24/7. On top of that the AC's produced a really pungent cheesy smell that you're forced to work in. - Management is very biased in terms of what holidays they choose to celebrate, which again going back to the name of the company is ironic. For example, National UAE holidays are not celebrated but donut day is... - The list of cons is endless but I would be here for the rest of my career if I carry on.. So take this as a warning. AVOID UMATR AT ALL COSTS!!!
