Pros

Great teammates, flexible hours, health benefits, 401K, awesome cause, motivating environment, high standards, clear expectations, you get to exercise at work!

Cons

It is a fundraising job so there is a requirement to perform on a daily and weekly basis and this can be stressful. It's a lot of information to learn and a short time to get it all down. It is entry-level canvassing job so the weather can be a difficult.

Pros

Good benefits, you really do help people

Cons

Human Resources takes a highly specialized approach to talent management. In that you cannot really change functions easily in UNHCR. You have to hyper-specialize in one area. So if you are a protection staff, you tend to burn out from trauma without an internal mechanism to alleviate the burnout. The higher you go in UNHCR, the crazier you become.
