Pros
The work does have a positive impact on schools and students, and mission-driven for the most part. Where interaction with students and service users is had, it can be quite pleasant.
Cons
- Not a very diverse team, and also quite hostile/ unpleasant dealing with management.
- Lack of diversity in seniority and micromanagement meant this was probably one of my least favourite working environments. High turnover of diverse staff members which, I believe, speaks to the work that needs to be done to create better spaces for underrepresented communities.
- Not particularly supportive to entry-level staff members, nor was there any formal/ informal learning and development opportunities. The work felt very 'checkbox' and there was no appetite to try new things.
- Whilst the team generally were quite pleasant, it did feel like an awkward working environment and a few experiences of micro aggressions.
