Pros

Your co-workers are generally awesome Great location the employee discount is pretty good you CAN be promoted quickly in some circumstances store is generally busy, so there is always something to do

Cons

considering my orientation included how to sit, stand, walk, talk, smile, bow and a couple of phrases in japanese? I should've known. -You are critiqued on EVERYTHING. they claim to want to promote from within and evaluate solely based on performance. Its lies. Favoritism is rampant. -You literally have to take a written exam when youre first hired, and then again if you should ever want to be promoted. -The dress-code seems to be okay, except if your manager doesn't like what you're wearing even if it fits into the dress-code you will be sent home. No tattoos, piercings, hair color out of the "normal" range, and no nail art... oh and definitely dont wear any fun jewelry, youll be forced to remove it "it is a work hazard" -There is absolutely NO WORK LIFE BALANCE. God forbid you should want a day off, ever. - Schedules change at the drop of a hat. And you are expected to know when it does... - The time and attendance policy is absurd, if you are late more than 5 minutes more than 3 times, you can and will literally be fired. -They preach customer service, but are inflexible about things like returns, and cannot look up purchases with a credit card, which is very inconvenient. -They miss-pay people all the time because of "system errors" not paying me for 50 hours worked is NOT OKAY... EVER -"Standards" are ridiculous. If an associates section falls below what the expected standard is they are in trouble on the spot, no matter how busy the store is. -Feedback is ALWAYS NEGATIVE -SMILING IS FORCED. YOU MUST SMILE AT ALL TIMES OR BE BERATED. Not kidding about that, apparently the height of customer service in japan is smiling, with your eyes "in an upside down U shape" I'm not quite sure how to do that yet - Upper management- 1 BARELY SPEAKS ENGLISH! 2- never leaves the office, so how would they know about 7/8ths of the stores performance. -goals are super high and unachievable -Nothing you do is ever good enough. Ever.

Pros

Your fellow associates are nice. The job isn’t very hard. Normal retail job

Cons

Management can be hit or miss. My manager was terrible and she made the whole job a terrible experience. This is very common for Uniqlo as they have little managers and they often get moved around a lot when people complain about them. Job is easy but if management are bad I would run
